Directions from Guarulhos International Airport via Avenida 23 de Maio
  • From the airport follow the sign to Ayrton Senna road.
  • Go straight to Marginal Tietê. Follow the sign to Avenida 23 de Maio and make a right on the sign.
  • This will take you to Avenida Santos Dumont.
  • Keep going straight and Avenida Santos Dumont will become Avenida Tiradentes (stay on the middle lane).
  • Go straight until you pass Anhangabaú tunnel.

Directions from Guarulhos International Airport via Marginal Pinheiros
  • From the airport exit, follow the sign to Ayrton Senna road.

  • Keep going straight on Marginal Pinheiros for about 15-20 minutes and you will see a sign to Ponte do Morumbi.

Non Resort Locations:

$100.00 per stay up to 6 nights. An additional $100.00 "Deep Cleaning" fee from day 7 to day 30 (for a total of $200). From day 30 on, the charge will be at the hotel's discretion.

Visas
As a general rule, Brazil requests visas based on the principle of reciprocity of treatment given to Brazilian citizens. Please check with the Brazilian Consulate in your region. All visitors need a valid passport. 

 

Language
São Paulo’s official language is Brazilian Portuguese, with many tourist-related service industry personnel communicating in English or Spanish.

 

Religion
Predominantly Catholic, although many other religions are practiced throughout the country.

 

Identification
Visitors are advised to carry some photo identification, such as a passport or driving license. Police advise that those renting cars should always carry a valid driver’s license and passport.

 

Water
Even though water in São Paulo is treated, it is not advisable to drink from the tap when out in the city. Two alternatives are bottled water (mineral water) and filtered water. 

 

Taxes
ISS (Service Tax) – 5% of the total room charges
Tourism Tax – R$ 10 per room per night

 

Tipping
Most restaurants add a 10% service charge. When tipping is voluntary, 10% is fine.

 

Weights and Measures
Brazil has officially adopted the metric system as its standard unit of measurement.

 

Currency
The monetary unit in Brazil is the Real (R$).

 

Banks
Most banks have ATMs spread throughout the city, but only certain locations accept international ATM cards.

 

Electricity
São Paulo operates with both 110 volt and 220 volt AC, 60Hz electricity. The hotel uses 220 volt, but has a large supply of adaptors and transformers for 110-volt electrical appliances.


Climate
São Paulo’s elevation (approx. 2,500 feet) gives it moderate temperatures. Being in the southern hemisphere, the seasons are opposite of the US and Europe. Summer in São Paulo officially begins around October and ends in March with temperatures reaching up to 104F/40C.

The renowned Brazilian chain Granado recently opened its second shop in São Paulo. The shop is nicely framed in Grand Hyatt São Paulo's dramatic 10-metre-high lobby.
Having been partners since 2002, Grand Hyatt São Paulo has selected Granado amenities with a special Brazilian flavour for guests.  The shop presents all the products from the Granado portfolio, including the Vintage exclusive line.  Guests can also experience a wider selection of Phebo items available only at Granado´s stores.

About Granado
Grand Hyatt São Paulo houses a specialty boutique selling Brazilian cosmetic products called Granado. Founded in 1870, Granado is the oldest Brazilian apothecary. In 1880, it became the official pharmacy to serve the Brazilian Royal family and even had the imperial crest stamped on its labels under the title “Imperial Drugstore and Pharmacy of Granado and Company”.

Typically Brazilian, the Granado Grand Hyatt São Paulo amenities are a big hit, particularly with foreign guests for being so unique and for translating so well the Brazilian natural diversity.

Guests checking in at the Grand Club rooms are presented with a signature Soap Menu and can choose the amenities according to their skin types, from a selection of 11 Granado (full size) soaps.  

To have the vintage-looking Granado concept store at the hotel is a way guests can extend their experience and take home an item (or items) that is authentically local – and quite exclusive too, as there are very few concept stores around the country (only 12 of them).   Items range from soaps, lotions, creams, shampoos, perfumes and exclusive lines for men, women and babies.  The products’ retro looks and references to Brazil such as the Brazil Nut line or the Amazon plant soaps are a sure memorable touch – and can be quite inexpensive.
